The Angel An angel floats down out of the night sky one Christmas Eve and delivers a basket to the front steps of Santa Claus' house at the North Pole. A gentle mouse named Rudy watches the angel come down and place the basket on Santa's front steps. After the angel leaves, Rudy runs up to look inside the basket and sees a tiny baby. Rudy is so fascinated by the little baby that he doesn't notice the angel return. She tells Rudy the baby is her gift to Santa. She makes him promise he will not tell anyone where the baby came from. Rudy promises. But one Christmas Eve, when Sandra is trying to figure out how to deliver presents to the animals, Rudy tells her where she came from. The angel arrives while Rudy is talking. She chides Rudy for giving away their secret but she can't remain cross for very long. Soon after, she suggests a plan to help them solve Sandra's problem. She also assures Sandra that she did come from Heaven, just as all little babies do, and that she is truly Santa and Mrs. Claus' little girl. |
